[Windows 11] Tweaking the registry to allow JIS and US keyboard layouts to coexist

Overview

When you connect an English-layout keyboard to a Japanese-layout laptop, the Windows settings only let you choose either the JIS layout or the US layout, which makes one of the keyboards awkward to use.

Method

[Windows 10 / Windows 11] Make JIS and US keyboard layouts coexist by editing the registry

Just by following the procedure described there, I was able to set the built-in PS/2 keyboard to the JP layout even while the system keyboard setting was set to the US layout.
